Tomorrow Phil and I are heading off on our longest road trip yet… and we are rather excited about it!
Starting from our lovely Brussels home, our first stop will be Nuremberg. Where we have three things that we want to check out; to start with as Nuremberg dates back to the 11th century, we will definitely be taking a wander through the old town, we also want to check out the Palace of Justice and the ex-Nazi Party Rally Grounds. I don’t think there will be time for much else, but if there is anywhere that you think we should check out – or if you have any restaurant or pub suggestions, please let me know!
On Wednesday we drive to Vienna (making Austria my next new Country) for two days of sightseeing and a completely random catch-up with a good friend of ours who lives in the USA and just happens to be in Vienna with work this week. According to Tripadvisor there are 295 attractions in Vienna, which I reckon will keep us a bit busy, but if you have any top tips, I would love to hear them.
On Friday we will pop over the border to Slovakia (woo hoo – Country number 29) and spend a day and night in Bratislava. I haven’t done a great deal of research (yet – but I’m about to spend 12 hours in a car, so I’ll have time then!) on what we should be doing while we’re there – so your recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
Then on Saturday we start the drive back to Brussels, stopping in Munich on the way – this will be more about resting I thinking, but I hope we’ll have a couple of hours to mooch around the City before arriving back in Belgium on Sunday.
