Are you ready for some pictures from one of the most relaxing weekends I have ever had? As soon as I stepped out into the grounds I let out an involuntary sigh of relief. Everywhere you look, Al Bustan Palace is beautiful.
Nestled in an almost private bay, on one side there are the rugged Hajar mountains and on the other a long stretch of beach and the Sea of Oman, which is perfect for romantic strolls while trying to snap the sunset.
The gorgeous grounds and five (yes five) swimming pools, spa and restaurants, meant that we had everything we needed for a weekend of total relaxation. Eating, drinking, reading, just generally lounging around, it was splendid.
I loved the traditional decor in our room, which looked out over both the grounds and to sea. Sitting out on the balcony in the morning, watching the hotel come to life and then having a soak in the glorious bath tub (there is something truly decadent about taking a long bath first thing in the morning).
After checking out and with a couple of hours to kill before we needed to head to the airport, we took a seat in the stunning lobby under the huge domed ceiling and tucked into a delicious afternoon tea and read newspapers, while the pianist filled the lobby with beautiful music.
It really was the most wonderful weekend and I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Al Bustan Palace.
